Equity Prioritiser
What if...
We could show a direct correlation between share price and media coverage?
We could quantify how different types of news affect share price?
It were possible to do this in a rigorous, scientific and quantifiable way?
Hill & Knowlton, in partnership with Commetric, now offers an innovative, scientifically-proven method of realising all three.
Equity Prioritiser is a unique, groundbreaking new service that quantifies how corporate news impacts share price across whole market sectors. The service will vastly enhance PR professionals’ capacity to protect and enhance shareholder value, and clients will get hard, quantified evidence of the potential monetary value of both risks and opportunities.
Developed by natural language scientists, programmers, mathematicians over a period of five years, Equity Prioritiser isolates from other variables how much – and in which direction – share price has or is likely to move following media coverage on any one of 350 identified drivers – which are all grouped under broad corporate reputation headings.
A separate service, Equity Optimiser, provides customised research for specific companies rather than whole market sectors and identifies factors that contribute positively versus negatively.
The insights provided by both services can be leveraged by senior executives and communications, IR and financial PR specialists. For the first time, companies can inform their communications planning with data showing how media coverage directly affects the company’s share price. The data will also serve as a means of measuring the effectiveness of existing communications strategies and activities. As a result, the C-suite and the communications function can work more closely to determine how news will be received by the financial markets and subsequently adapt their communications activities accordingly.
