H&K Promotes Stuart Smith to Head of Corporate Practice, Europe Middle East & Africa

Stuart Smith, currently Head of Hill & Knowlton UK Corporate Practice and Chairman UK Healthcare, is promoted with effect 1st September to Head of Corporate Practice, Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) and joins the company’s European Executive Committee. He will be responsible for developing the company’s corporate practice across the region and its growing roster of international corporate clients.

Dr Smith joined Hill & Knowlton London from Edelman where he was UK CEO. Previously he held senior communications positions with the Audit Commission, 3M and Burson-Marsteller. He will be based in London and report to EMEA Chairman & CEO Andrew Laurence.

Andrew Laurence commented: “Stuart has had a considerable impact on our UK business in a short space of time and has been contributing at an EMEA level for a while. I am delighted he has agreed to take our corporate practice forwards across the region. It’s our largest practice and has a lot of potential to grow further.”

Sally Costerton said: “Stuart has done a great job for the UK and will still work closely with the teams here in London. His new role recognises the increasingly international nature of our corporate business; the value he brings to senior client relationships and his ability to develop intellectual capital.”

Stuart Smith will be replaced in the UK by Tarquin Henderson who will join on 8th September as UK Head of Corporate Practice reporting to UK CEO Sally Costerton. He joins from Financial Dynamics where he was COO of the firm’s 60 strong Corporate and Brand team.
